Default Papa Bags *Pics added*

The only thing I didn't like about my Heritage was the droopy saddlebags, which looked like crap.

I looked at saggy bags, but wasn't sure about doing it myself and didn't want the extra expense of shipping my bags to them for the install.

I looked on ebay, found something kinda like the saggy bag idea, and wasted 30 bucks, AFTER cussing up a storm, cutting the hell out of my hands and fingers. Those plastic pieces of dog squeeze are still somewhere out in my garage.

Then someone posted about Papa Bags on this forum. They seemed to be easy to install, no removing the bags from the bike to ship them off, no gluing, and supposed to take 30 minutes or less to get done.

So I talked the Queen of the house into buying a pair for me for Father's Day. They arrived today, and I talked her into letting me install them. (I know all that's gonna cost me something later, lol)

So I open up the box and there's these metal pieces, plastic pieces, bolts, straw looking thingys, and lots of nuts and washers.

I got the brackets put together per the instructions then installed them in my saddle bags. Believe me, it took longer to put them together than it did to install them in the bags.

Here's how they work, which isn't explained very well on their website. Once you get the rectangular brackets put together, you open your saddle bag and take off the two nuts holding the bags to your bike.

Then you put the bracket into the bag, installing the metal part of the bracket on the bolts you took the nuts off of. Rolling the bracket UP as you line up the bolt holes, you then reinstall the nuts and the install is complete.

The bracket installed now has the bags open in a perfect position. There is no need for a piece of plastic on the lid, as the bracket makes the lid form perfectly when you close it.

Another thing I like about the Papa Bag system is when you open the lid, the bracket holds the bag open for easier access. I think I"ve found more room inside my bags too.

Pricewise, the Papa Bag system is close to that of others. Ths simplicity and ease of installation for us do it your selfers make them the best choice for Heritage owners in my opinion!

P.S. Now I've gotta take more pics of my bike. All the others look like crap with those droopy bags.

Hey, thanks for that pic. That shows what you have when the Papa Bags are installed. They go in the TOP of the bag instead of the bottom like most other systems.

It's a 'Rainy Night in Georgia' here right now, so I'll post some pics when the weather clears.

Thanks,, U might have seen my post..
I've posted about PaPa bag inserts, dozens and dozens of times in here in the last 3yrs..

Had mine for 3+ yrs now and as U say they are not in the way and what I like about them is they don't Stretch Ur bags so much they look like Leather over Plastic as others do and install in less that 1/2 hr without any glue.

The leave just enough looseness in the bags to still looks like they should while keeping the top of Ur bottom bag a tight rectangle like it was new and the lids level..

The other thing is U can use then even on the worst of bags were U cant on some of the other inserts.

U can see below how they have keep the bags looking like they did when they were new.

Of Couse, I've made and added a LITTLE fringe and put some more spots on the bike along with the rear bib/backrest I made for riding solo...
