I'm lookig into a quick detach saddle bag mount system. The Easy Bracket system looks good. Anyone out there have them?
I have a Deluxe. Part calls for bags 12 to 14" for a small bracket or 21 in. for a large bracket. I'm in the middle with 16 in. Any advice on that?
How about other bag mount systems?
I did not like the Easybracket/Ghost bracket thing...had to drill the bags, and it distanced the bags from the strutsby 1 1/2" . I used Bubbas on my Heritage Springer
I went with the Easy Brackets and I agree the down side is they do move the Bags away from the bike about an inch or so. The upside is they are on and off thebike in a few seconds, they lock and for me that was better since I dont use my bags but about 10% of the time. Easy Brackets will work with almost any saddle bag but Bubbas Brackets are made for HD Bags only and Bubbas systen is much more expensive but Bubbas will put the bags as close as possible.
As fo size bags I have a 19 longx 8 widex 12 deep set of bags on my bike with our moving the T/S and the small brackets work fine (I think they are model SR1, they connect to the front 2 bolts on my struts) these are the brackets sent to me with my bags from the bag maker
I have the easy brackets and like them. Yes they distance the bags out a bit, but take a look at your clearances with bigger bags.
Mine barely clear the axle nut as it is. Plus, unless you have hard backed bags they will flex some and I dont want them hitting the swingarm.
Lastly, they come off in seconds and not too many of them at that! Problem is, I only remove them at motels and for cleaning and not always even then.
No doubt they must barly clear you're axle. That bike you are on looks a bit small! Unless that's you in front?
I'm itching to order and I think I'm going to get the easy brackets.
Thanks to all for the imput.
