Congratulations! Hmmmmm, perhaps if we petition Harley to make a detachable baby seat...... perhaps with a little tinted windscreen, your wife might be a little more at ease?

oh trust me i have been looking at that tour pack for the heritage and thinking up of ways how to convert it to a baby seat...but i doubt I would get far without someone going apesh%$ on me.

I can see the old lady with her cane screaming at the top of her lungs already

Well, I have a LOT of kids. I know my wife worries, especially with a couple get-offs under my belt, but the one rule I have is she won't be getting on the bike as long as we have little ones. If I buy it, she's covered, but if we both do, then the little ones are left alone, and that ain't gonna happen.

I can't sympathize with this too well because my wife loves bikes and accepts the risk involved. If it's your time, it's your time. Might as well go doing something you love doing. It's a hell of an expensive lawn ornament if you don't ride it. At the very least put some more leather gear on yourself and get a full face helmet and see if that will put some of the paranoia at ease. If it doesn't then man up and ride anyway or sell it to someone who will.

I went thru that 25 years ago. I ended up selling the bike and a guy I work with just went thru the same thing. I do wish I had kept it though. I agree if it's your time it will happen, till then live and ride. Just have great insurance.

Your wife is not being reasonable. Where is the 'give 'n take' here?

I can understand her consern because riding a bike is an 'extreme' sport compared to golf or curling but.....remind her some women marry race car drivers...mountain climbers...firemen...soldiers...

He's dealing with a pregnant woman, which is worse than dealing with a regular woman.
I wouldn't really call it unreasonable, given her current state. Most likely once she has the kid she'll mellow back out. Hell, once she has the kid she'll probably forget he exists for awhile.
