Ok I just ordered in a new Hitachi style All ***** starter for a customer, he took it home and tried to install it. His bike is a 1988 FXSTC. It will not fit, no way no how. he moved the oil pot and the starter fit fine but can not get the oil pot reinstalled, if he turns the starter a bit and uses another mounting hole it hits the trans cover. Has anyone ran into this before with this starter and what is the fix for it?
