starter prob need help
Just put an ultima 2.0 in place of the 1.75. Cranks awesome!! but the jack shaft ( wich is the same one that was on the 1.75) likes a frogs hair of being fully disengaged after the start. So it keeps hitting and trying to turn with the fly wheel. ?????

The starter might be cocked making the starter shaft stick. Make sure you tighten both starter bolts tight and even. If it's a chrome starter, i've had to grind the chrome off the lip that goes into the transmission housing.
Or maybe the starter shaft is'nt in all the way or the geared cuff that goes into the starter on one end and the shaft at the other end is reversed. There is a c-clip inside that cuff and it's offset.

i made sure everthing was a good fit. what i done was take the jacksheft off. took a soft grinder and just haired off the starter end. That way it would slide further down on the starter shaft. put it back on the bike worked like a charm. starts up great and disengages like it is supposed to. thanks for you help and taking the time to help me.
