Default Night Train Control Switch Wiring

Anyone have any idea about replacing my grip switches and switch wiring? Issues like how much time and how big a job. I'm not concerned about grip issues, but rather what I'll encounter in getting under the tank, etc.

Thanks.

Ken

Do you have a maunal, if not I suggest getting one. If like my bike, they just plug in under the tank, you probably don't need to remove the tank to unplug them, but if you haven't been under there to know what your looking for it will make the job a little easier. Tank removal is pretty straight forward, nice to have a set of hands around when you pull the crossover and drain the tank. I'd say for a first timer it would take an afternoon to do the job. No suprises under the tank, just 2 terminal plugs.

I should add, if you want to see pics of what it looks like search 'internal wiring' on the forum. Few guys posted step by step with pictures when the wired their bikes. Gives you a good idea what you'll be looking at.

Don't break the quick disconnect on the back left side of the tank like I did.

On ebay there are some quick disconnects for the crossover line. I think I'll be getting one as soon as I can.

Edit: Ordered quick disconnect. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HARLE...4506.m20.l1116

You can not do it without removing the tank unless you have a magic thin and long hand... Seriously, you should remove the tank and do it...... Might as well change the handle bar while you are at it....

The only part I found frustrating was draining the tank... make sure you have a chunk of hose and a container large enough to hold what's in your tank... Don't ask how I know
