well its actually my back telling me to do this. i am thinking about putting sportbike clipon handlebars. i have a bad back and cant sit up straight on my rocker for more than a 30 min ride. but i can ride sport bikes all day long. so im hoping this will solve that problem since i over payed for my bike.
You can always get a set for a 48mm and have them bored out by a machine shop or get the 50's and have the slot or slots milled a little so they will tighten on a 49mm tube.
But I have serious reservations about how a set of clip ons its going to treat your back when combined with forward controls. Aside from the strange apperance its going to have you folded up like a pretzel.
You might be better off getting a set of bars and risers that have more pull back to them and combine it with a seat that has a back rest for more support.
PS, just thinking of clip ons and forward controls hurts my back.
Besides forwards are a reach for me on a Nightrain with drag bars, so forget clip ons.
But then again, I'm an old fart and real factory made sport bikes were stilll 20 years away when I started riding.

That's funny, a couple of years ago my son's friend came over on his Yamaha R6 and insisted that I try it out. Think he was hoping for a chance to try out my Custom, fat chance of that ever happening.
Anyway after bugging me for about 10 minutes I finally agreed to take it around the block, just to shut them up.
But I hadn't gotten two houses away before the leg cramps started and I knew I was in trouble. By the time I got around the block, and I went as fast as I dared. I had to circle around in the street till I convinced them I wasn't kidding when I said I couldn't stop without falling down and needed them to 'catch' me and hold the bike up till I could get off the damned thing.
It took both of them (football player sized 25 year olds) to hold me and the bike up while I climbed off.
Your calling it a torture device is about as close to the truth as you could get as far as I'm concerned.
