Bought a set of HD saddlebag brakets to keep throw over bags out of the tire on wife's '06 Deluxe. When mounted they put the bags at an angle instead of hanging straight down the side of the bike. If I let the bags drop further down on the braket they straighten but they are pushed further away from the bike and are only supported by the bottom of the bracket.
Wife has Saddleman medium sized throwover bags that she likes because they will carry what she needs without being so big that they cover to much of her V&H pipes. (have a similar set for my Fatboy and will probably have same problem).
A vice and an BFH?...Just kidding...Guess you could get some thick spacers and grind them at about a 45 degree angle and put them between the struts and the brackets to bring the bottom of the brackets in. Just a thought.
