This is my 2nd time posting this question because I didn't get any helpful feedback the first time. So, I'll try again. I need to find an emblem or badge that will cover the ugly holes in the RK Custom bags I just put on my Fatboy. The emblem has to be about 6 or 7 inches wide. All of the Harley tank emblems are too big.
Uhhh dumb question, I don't see any hole on the bags, are they on the bags or the bracket? after relocating my rear signals and installing bags I was left wit some holes in the fender backet, I went to a good hardware store and picked up some black nylon plugs
looks good'.
hope this helps.
I think I see what you mean in the second picture.. your talking about where the original chrome "Road King" lettering was on the bottom of the bags right?
Not sure on an emblem that would fit there, but you might also look into some sort of patch that could be sewn on to the leather... might open up your options. Maybe check with an upholstery shop to see how much they would charge to re-wrap the bags entirely?
I saw that too. but thought is was The HD stamped in the leather...the close up shows nothing, thats Y i was confused...still dont see any holes..
OK still looking, If the holes are in the area that looks like they are in the lower part of the bag in the closeup, and then left of center..
You R staying wiht the plane look. but a leather worker could still make a braid like Ur seat has and weave it in and out of the holes.
Also make some kind of leather concho that screws or glues on, or something similar to cover them.
Theres all kind of little do-dads in the leather line. do a search on the web and see if anything looks good...
There are a bunch of leather web sites, I have looked at them in the past...
A good trim shop should also help ya with some Ideas.
i think i see too but a close up may help. seems to be talking about the 2 holes left by the emblem from the road king name. that is easy. most indy shops sell pins like boot pins of eagles, snakes, state of texas. just stick those thru the holes or get studs from the hardware store or black acorn nuts.
Sorry, the pics are much clearer on my computer. Anyway, I circled the holes I'm talking about and also included a pic of the original emblem from the factory. Thanks, J
