Default relocate signals for windshield?

Just got the h-d quick release windshield for my 08 fxstc and it came with a turn signal relocation kit. Of course the instructions said it was necessary to use the kit which is why I ignored them and went ahead and just put the windshield on. Does anyone know why it's necessary relocate the turn signals? It's all good without doing it as far as I can see.

I relocated them on my 07 fxstc b\c they would have sat behind the windshield and possbily be harder for on-coming traffic to see during the day.

I also bought the aux lights and thought it looked better with the turn signals down by them instead of on the handlebars

I just did away with them, and went with Kuryakyn Mirror Led Turn signals.
2 birds with one stone.
Cleans up the front end and LED's much much brighter.
