I'm trying to figure out the best handlebars to put on an '05 FatBoy to give easier reach to a person with shorter arms. I have checked the parts catalogue and managed to completely confuse myself. Can anyone suggest which bars would enable an easier reach without having to change cables, etc.?
I like the look and feel of narrow beachbars myself. 36 inch bars use stock cables and wires. I have bad shoulder and short arms, I find beachbars very comfortable. I would also take a look at these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=200360329056 not sure about cables but you can check HD website for cable fitment.
It is a personal choice on bars the only way to know for sure is to put them on and ride for a while. Not to hijack, but I have a set of RKII bars from wild one for sale here. Someone gave them to me. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...nstriping.html
Hmm, some good ideas there with the risers. I hadn't thought of that. Can this be done without changing cables, etc>?
I didn't have to change any cables when I added the risers.
Didnt disconnect anything from the bars. Just took off the clamp and let em dangle while I changed the risers, then clamped em back on the new risers.
That doesnt mean that any length riser will work without new cables. If my risers had been any longer I'd have needed new cables.
