Yeah, I've been in some heavy *** downpours also, and I have an open air filter. Never an issue for me, as of yet. Knock on wood, LOL.

Rode in the rain many times with my sportster without a problem. Rode in the rain with the 09 Deluxe and the bike started acting funny, the brakes were making a weird noise and seemed to be pulling, since then the brakes have been squealing and I have a ticking noise in the front end when riding. Taking it in today hopefully (rain here) to get it resolved, also to get the front fender replaced due to a factory defect in the paint (dimples). Will let you know what they say. Anyone else had the rotational ticking noise that sounds like it comes from the front wheel?

I just rode home sunday through 50 miles of absolute down pour. I have a Big Sucker air filter and no problems at all. I was worried about it though so I was paying real close attention and no change.
