Just returned from a long trip with quite a bit of highway travel. I noticed at speeds between 75-80 frontend felt like it had speed wobbles. It was not a typical unbalanced wheel shake. I was just wondering if this is common on fatboys because of the steep steering angle. Any suggestions are much appreciated.
By the way stock tires with 2500 miles on them running 37 lbs of pressure.
Not sure how that works, but it does. Sometimes just letting your arms and grip go limp will stop that wobble. Guess sometimes you tend to fight and counter from side to side, but, Id still have it checked out, could be bearings in the neck
Guess I will check the head bolt tomorrow had not thought of that yet. As far as grip goes I tried very loose grip and one hand as well no change at all but good thought.
Also I have noticed how I have the bike loaded with gear or a combination of passenger and gear can cause the shakes.
My suggestion would be to ride the bike again at speed with just yourself on it and see what happens.
check the steering neck fall away, could be a bit loose. You could have also thrown a balance weight too, or could have a small nail in the tire, check those issues as well. Could even just need to rebalance the tire as well. As for tire pressure,, shouldnt it be in the 40-45lb range?
