rich enough
Asking for opinions here, I have an 08 Softail with stock air cleaner and Im running xieds with rush 1.75 slip ons . I think its running rich enough not to do any damage to the motor but Im asking for others opinions .Im heading out to the Outter banks on saturday and the thought creeps in the back of my mind that it might not be rich enough for that long of a haul of almost 700 miles one way of highway miles.
the following rant is based on my opinion, and doesn't reflect the opinions of this station:
why would someone spend $17,000 - $21,000+ for a motorcycle, then spend $1000s on chrome doo-dads and leather hangie things and not be willing to spend $250 - $500 for a REAL fuel managment system?? they take care of the visual - making it LOOK good, but stop before they make it run right, and cooler. then question if it'll make a short highway run.
OK, rant over - you are now returned to the regular scheduled drivel.
oh, to answer your question - I don't know. probably..... but if you question whether you'll do damage, how much fun can it be to fly down the highway waiting for the engine to seize?????

i agree!!! imho, fuel management is a necessity with ANY exhaust change. the o2 sensors are there to compensate for atmospheric changes, i.e. elevation, NOT to compensate for exhaust changes. any respectable technician will tell that.
