Exclamation What model '03?

I ride an ’09 Dyna Super Glide and the mailman that comes to our business says he wants to buy an ’03 Softtail. He said it’s a Low Rider (he’s short and can reach the ground when he’s sitting on it) but he doesn’t know a Low Rider from a low boy.

What model might he have, if we eliminate changing shocks and adjusting the forks?

Are there any issues he should look for before he buys it? (i.e. like the ’06 Dyna’s that have a stator that comes loose)

Only LowRider I know of is a Dyna. Def not a softail.

As far as a "low rider", maybe he just means that it sits real low. Thus rides low and to him is a low rider. If this is what he is talking about, maybe he is looking at a Deluxe. IDK.

Thanks JF. I don't know the 2003 line of Softails so I thought I't throw it out here for the guys that know.

Do you know of any issues with the Deluxe or any of the '03's?

My only experience with an '03 is my buddy has an '03 softail standard. It is a sweet bike and he had done alot with it. I have limited knowledge on Harley's also, but I'm sure that others will chime in. There are alot of people on here with some great information.

In 03-04 the Fat Boy had one of the lowest seat heights of all Harleys. The Low Rider is a Dyna, not a Softail.

The MOCO didn't make the Deluxe in '03. They made the Softail Standard, Night Train, Fatboy, and Heritage. I believe that's it. And, as already mentioned, the Low Rider is a Dyna.
