I am on a mission to find a brighter headlight bulb for my 08 Train. Our few of us are making a run to Niagara Falls this weekend and we'll be riding alot of backroads; thus I would like to see!
Any thoughts?
i run a sylvania silverstar ultra around 20.00 but it puts out about twice the light over stock
downside to it is people flash their brights at me all the time still worth every penny though
We have 3 bikes.... 1 Dyna and 2 Heritages. All 3 bikes have switched over to PIAA XTREME WHITE BULBS. We wont run with anything else. These bulbs have anti-vibration charachteristics and man, I can tell you it's the difference between stock and these are like night and day. It really does give you a brighter & whiter light. Not Blue, but very white. You can literally see them coming at you a mile away.
Ours have been on for 2 full seasons and we run them on HIGH BEAMS. None have burned out OR melted the internal wiring. Check with your Harley Dealer. They can tell you what size PIAA bulb(s) you would need. That's who ordered them for us. DONT TOUCH THE BULBS without gloves on if you decide to do the install yourself....any oils can cause premature burnout.
At first Hubby poo poo'd me when I insisted on getting PIAA's for my Dyna....UNTIL he saw how much brighter they were over stock, especially using High Beams..... Then he immediately ordered a set for both his and our Daughters Heritage.
Ya Can't be TOO SAFE out there in Cagerland and at night, the light it throws is unbelieveable.
Check Youtube for visual comaprisons between regular bulbs and Sylvania or PIAA. It's quite amazing.

Love that blue with the ghost flames in your pic.....it's Stunning, and I'll bet ( considering your name) it's simply outstanding against the chrome you've no doubt added.
As you can see from my signature pick.......I too am a Chrome-a-holic.

How did you get that decal to stick to the oil tank? I have tried putting the Harley patent decal on the tank (like the X-bones) but after it got hot a couple times it came off and the glue smudge it left behind looked awful.

i changed my headlamp for a better pattern and look by going to a bosch headlamp. all the light is on from horizontal down instead of round. makes the stock bulb much brighter and a bright bulb like day light. I think they are old Volkswagen headlamps http://www.ratwell.com/technical/BoschH4.html
