Default New Bars?

After fitting FXSTC apes to my FXST Ive decided after a summer of use that I love the posistion and the looks. The only thing i dont like is that they look too thin, does anyone know where I can get the same type of bar in a chubby 1 1/4"? At the same time I would also like them pre wired as I want to clean the look up. I know people will say they are easy to wire but I want to cut the grief and just plug and go.

mant thanks in advance

Thanks Chazmanian, those bars look very similar to what im after, the width is spot on but in an ideal world id like them to taper slightly more towards the base. Now if I could get them pre wired Id more than likely go for them. Ive just measured mine and they have a 10" rise, so good call

I'm a big fan of the taper as well....

Hence I went with a set of narrow 12" mini apes with a 5" base. I dont care for the

I like the whole Schwinn stingray look.

ok, what the hell? Chaz, help me out here mang. Ive got the stock risers on my standard, and a set of street bob mini apes. I THOUGHT they were 12s, but may be 10s. I am looking to replace those with some small risers and taller bars - right about shoulder level or so. From what I can tell I thought I was lookin at 16s, but your 12s look tall enough?? what size risers are those? How high are the grips on you when you sit on er?

- - see what I mean? I think that smaller risers with the base of the bars tight to the tree and a few degrees off 90 would definitely pull me forward (cool) but would I need taller than 12s to keep my hand position right? Im fvckin confused. . . sorry for the simi high jacking Eddy. Now that I keep looking at my front end and looking at others around here, the more I cant stand my "hovering" apes. Looks funky, not really diggn em much anymore.

ok, I googled the customs risers, so those are real low profile huh. Im tryin to figure out what height bars to get to keep my hands around where they are right now. Also, cable management is important as those things are expensive as hell, would rather not buy them if at all possible.

They are 10's.

I am looking to replace those with some small risers and taller bars - right about shoulder level or so. From what I can tell I thought I was lookin at 16s, but your 12s look tall enough?? what size risers are those? How high are the grips on you when you sit on er?
16's are too tall for my whole jockey shift thing. I'm lazy as fvck and dont wanna reach the extra 4 inches after shifting!! When combined with the le pera seat the 12"s are primo...On a tall seat I dunno tho.

I'm using a 1.5" chrome OEM Heritage riser and the grips are a tad over my shoulders and as perfect a riding position for me as they could ever be.....I did the blind mans bar test (Closed eyes and reached out to where I was comfy and held that position for a minute. It worked out that I didnt like my hands way over my shoulders or 38 inches spread wide. The Narrow Krome Werks is the optimum bar for my 6-1" frame) The Le Pera seat is a game changer tho and were I running a cushy comfy one like you? I would be looking at 14"s. I wonder if dropping the rear changes the dynamics as well....Hmmmm.

I just measured and from the lowest portion of the top of my seat to the floor is 21"

From the center of the grips to the floor is 49.5"

38.5" difference in bar and seat height.....

- - see what I mean? I think that smaller risers with the base of the bars tight to the tree and a few degrees off 90 would definitely pull me forward (cool) but would I need taller than 12s to keep my hand position right?
With that seat? Yup.

Im fvckin confused. . . sorry for the simi high jacking Eddy. Now that I keep looking at my front end and looking at others around here, the more I cant stand my "hovering" apes. Looks funky, not really diggn em much anymore.
I dont wanna sound like a hater but....Lose that riser Bro. Seriously. Do a shorty Heritage type riser and a 14" bar if you want to be at or a touch over level. 16's will have you reaching up a good bit and I cant ride the twisties as fast with my hands that high.....

Do the blind test and see what works for you Bro!!

I alos apologize to Eddy for being complicent in the jacking of his thread!!

Great info chaz, thanks a lot. Ill pull some numbers on mine when I get the chance. I was broke as a joke when I threw those bars on, shoulda waited for the scratch to do it right. I wonder, if with 14s, I would need new cables. I guess more time measuring and less time typing will tell me huh. Wish ya luck with those bars Eddy, thanks again chaz.
