All great info coming from you guys.
A couple of things.
1. I have no prob with having a 5 speed as opposed to the 6
2 same with an 88 vs 96 engine, I have heard the 88's are good motors
3. if an older model I probably would updated the cam tensioner
4. I guess my main driving force in looking at an older model as opposed to a newer one is, there are lots of bikes out there with low miles that people just ride down the driveway and then feel the need to update to the newest model. Plus I am cheap and easy

If I buy new I could see where I can easily dump 5k in it in accessories where as I can get all those accessories included or at least most of them.

I am not opposed to looking at other models, although want to stay in the softails. For those of you with the trains how high is your seat? I am a tad vertically challenged

Here's a prime example of today's economy. It's not a FB but you will get the drift.

06 FLHT with 5000 miles and plenty of extras. He is selling it for 13.5K. I've ridden with him but rarely and the bike is flawless but has dropped his panties on this just to sell it. He works out of town, rarely home and wants to simply spend time with his kids now until they are grown.

Just a sweet bike. There's another guy on this forum that has the exact bike as I do, SE Fatboy, same color with 500 miles on it. He has no idea how much to sell it for.

Just a silly market out there right now.

Who knows... read the last thread on this page. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/screa...eration-2.html

I didn't answer him. Quite frankly I'll not let mine go and have no idea what they sell for now. Anyone that goes over 5' 2" could plant both feet on the ground easily but you got to hold on real tight if you twist the throttle. This was the first year of the SE for a Fatboy. 1290 of this color were made and made very well.

I guess I live in a part of the country where demand is still up. used bikes around here dont save you squat! 05-06 bikes get 14,15k! I am always afraid of buying someone elses headache so I buy new. I ride it-I work on it-its mine. if it breaks its cuz I freakin broke it.
