Default Quick PCIII question

I got a new map for my bike from Fuel Moto earlier today, and they mentioned checking the firmware on my Power Commander and seeing if it's the newest available. I haven't had a chance to check yet, but if I find that there's a newer version, should I go ahead and update it? I'm not experiencing any drivability issues that can't be directly linked back to changing the exhaust at the moment....plus I'd hate to brick the PCIII right before my trip to go ride the dragon.

I know when I had mike bike dyno'd, he had to update my firmware before he could tune it. Fuel Moto is a great company. I can't see them steering you wrong.

If your bike is running fine; I would leave well enough alone. I'm sure that updating the firmware is a good idea; but there are 3variables here:
1) the PCIII which is fine
2) the computer that you are using to "flash" the PCIII with
3) the person doing the "flash"/update

Everytime just before a big ride that I do something that really didn't need to be done on my Train; something unexpected happens.

IMO wait till after your ride...enjoy it!

If it runs good, DONT MESS WITH IT. At least til you get home.
Seems like when you try to fix something that aint broke it always tanks.
I do have a PCIII by the way and am not touching it.

Depending on the build date of your PC as well as the year of your bike we generally recommend making sure you have 2.2.0 or newer firmware.
