V&H, Python or Samson???
I put the Samson BG3 on my bike. I love the sound. Nice and deep but not blaringly loud. I leave for work at 5 am when I'm on dayshift and it's all good in my neighborhood.
These are the Screamin' Eagle pipes and they have a nice low rumble. I'd be willing to bet that Vance and Hines makes these. If you compare mine to V&H Big Shot staggered, the only difference I can see is the embossed logo and the length. Mine come back to the axle bolt, the big shots are a few inches shorter.
I am confused now! The bike was advertised at the dealership stating it was CUSTOMIZED with EXHAUST and PERFORMANCE. A salesman told me it had a Stage I performance package and SE II exhaust, I bought the bike.
Since reading all the posts about fuel management systems I called the dealer and asked him to give me the service records on the bike because I wanted to make sure I was "not" going to mess anything up when I added new pipes... Dealer now says that it doesn't have a Stage I or any other performance upgrades, just the SE II exhaust. I asked for the name of the previous owner and Dealer said he'll get back to me, the owner may not want to be contacted....

Yes, the Sreamin' Eagles have heat shields and a crossover pipe. I'm not sure if any pipe can be guaranteed against bluing (or yellowing). If the pipes turn blue it's from a rich fuel mixture. A lean mixture will turn pipes yellow.
I just got a heritage and going thru the all the post ( ya, it will take a while, lol ) and seen this one. What does backfiring or popping on deceleration mean? Mine does that? Is it bad? why?
thanks

You may be able to get away with just the stage 1 download. Try it out and see if there is any back firing or popping on deceleration. If you do get some it can be taken care of by adding a power commander, SERT, or any fuel management device of your choice. If you are really into performance get a fuel management device and throw it on a dyno for a custom map so that you can utilize every bit of tq. and hp. Welcome to the real sound of H.D.
