May seem an odd question but are Do Harley use AF or metric nuts and bolts, I have a Meterench Geman spanner system that will fit both but ' I'm not happy with the grip on the jaw's of the spanners, so before I start changing things I thought I'd ask the experts and buy the correct tools for the job.

The front forks, brakes and the battery also use metric bolts. The front forks are not made in America, I cant remember the name of the brand, I think its SHOWA, which is Japanese or something. Actually it was a cost thing which goes back to mid '70's. H-D used to make their own fork lowers then switched to Kiaba then Showa and also the Keihin Carbs which they used up to '06/'07. The stuff was much cheaper than union made parts here in the U.S. Japan then to us is like China now.
