Default Springer front end won't Spring

Just got my 1997 Heritage Springer back from getting new tires, Brakes, and Steering head bearings and noticed that my front end is not "moving" any more! It's like it fully compresed and won't come up. Neddless to say, except for really smooth pavement it's riding poorly!
Before I try to call the indie shop that did the work is there something simple I should be looking for? Bike has 45,000 miles, runs great, and never had a problem like this before.
The other really minor problem in comparison is that the new pads on the rear squeal so bad at low speed it sounds like a 10 guys with fingernails on the chalkboard around town. Quits of course the second you apply any brake, but starts right back up in seconds afterwards.
The front end is the real problem - any thoughts
thanks

Man that's scary, unless they replaced the rocker bushings , I can't think of any reason they would compress the forks, but if it's nothing blatantly obvious, I would load it on a trailer and take it back .
Don't ride it back , if you don't have any front suspension
on a bike that heavy it's dangerous . I hope you get it resolved without a hassle, and you're back on the road soon. IMHO nothing rides better than a heritage springer, 2001 flsts myself.

Both of you should check out www.heritagespringer.com

it sounds like the rockers are too tight.....Hopefully they put them together properly, but it doesn't sound that way....

No, didn't notice it right away - fat tires and a smooth road home last week made it feel OK but a normal road yesterday was a whole different story

Maybe you should post the name of the shop so nobody else takes a bike they like there.

I won't post a shops name until I give them a chance to fix it. I once made a mistake about 20 or 30 years ago if I remember and think they are due a "bye" on the first one!

they didn't put spacers back in right maybe and torqued it to much so it may be pulling the rockers together making them bind. Iwould call them but I don't think I would let them touch my bike again, not just your average joe blow can adjust springers
