I have the HD tear drop tool box. I did find out later that you need to get a footpeg extender for the passenger side. The HD quality is not bad, and nice set of keys.

If you buy the aftermarket toolbox you still have to buy the connection kit for your particular bike. You also get another key to carry...if you buy the Harley toolbox there is no other connection kit to buy and you can use your current key to open the box...

This wasn't the case for me being my toolbox uses a round key and my bike doesn't. But I love having the toolboxes (yea, I put two on).

gconklin, the HD toolboxes do use the round key...I posted the above for 06Deuce, his bike does have the round key.

Buy the HD box, comes with mount plate,a little better quality.Bought mine from Zanotti, ordered oil filters at same time and reduced shipping, saved 25% compared to dealer costs.

Bought both of mine at HD when dealer has surplus stock selloff. They come with mount adaptors and the passenger footbeg extenders - no extras to buy. Any round key will work on them (don't keep valuables in there), I use the same key the EASY BRACKETS use.
