I got in touch with www.keithscustomseats.com I sent him the cheezy O.E. plastic one to use as a template and he took a piece of 6oz. leather and stiched a real nice piece of elephant skin from his trunk over it. Very different and exotic. Just an idea for ya.
has anyone changed out there console I have a deluxe with the vivid black insert and it seems to scratch very easy and it is driving me crazy.
I still have the stock console that has a black sticker look on it that is scratched and was thinking of buying the vivid black insert from Harley, I think its about $74.95 Part# 71337-05. Is the replacement I mentioned the one you have and does it scratch as easy as the stock one? Check out the web address below to see it on Harleys web site.
I've got the HD chrome tank piece with the textured chrome on the sides and got the matching console (through Custom Chrome, I think). I get folks that ask me all the time if the sun blinds me with all that chrome there, but I only really notice it if I look directly at it when I am stopped.
