was wondering what all is involved in changing my floorboards to footpegs and so see if anyone has any pics of what they look like on a fatboy or deluxe
YEAH, leave it alone!!! Many guys have converted, only to go back to the floorboards. Try checking out the KURYAKYN MARK 3 CRUISE ARMS, this way you have the best of both worlds. Rest your feet flat when you want, or stretch them out on the pegs. Just like forward controls, I LOVE IT! Bought the MARK 3s on e-bay, for a great deal. GOOD LUCK!
I was looking at swapping the footboards out for forward controls when I still had my deluxe. Basically, I decided that when the time came (which never did since I traded for a street glide) that I would do this....
1. Purchase and install an engine guard
2. Mount highway pegs on said engine guard
3. Purchase and install the Harley Goodies footboard extensions
Now, like I said, I did none of that, but as you are seeing as well as I did...removing the footboards seems to be something that people have done and then undone.
Still, I need to get the extensions for my street glide.
well im trying to get the more ol skool look with the pegs no floorboards and a open primary, eventually not really about confort ive road over 500 mile trips with 16" apes and a lepara bare bones im still young and dumb when it comes to confort just about looks right now also my floorboards scrape like crazy in the mountains and tight turns with the rear suspension slammed all the way just wondering how much it would cost and if anyone has any pics or wanting to sell there foward control setup
