my 04 FLSTC is still on the original battery and starting to crank a little slow, anyone familiar with this

Your playing RUSSIAN ROULETTE with that battery, they say 4yrs is PUSHING it. Your going on 6, REPLACE IMMEDIATELY!!!

+1, Cranking slower and slower is a sign of dieing battery happend to my friend I would spend the money and replace.

Replace battery now, for a few $, I'd get the H-D replacement. You can get replacement battery's to suit Softails at Wally World, but I wouldn't.

2004 heritage did same thing and i bought a DEKA AGM battery $74.95 /DEKA batterys are manufactered in pennsylvania and they are the supplier for HARLEY DAVIDSON

I don't understand why a guy who gets six years out of his OEM battery would be looking at a different battery. My bikes and even my girlfriends bike get 6 to seven years on the OEM. I replaced both originals last year in my '02 Fat Boy and her '03 Deuce. It's a no brainer to me.

I just paid $115 for a Harley battery at the dealer. A lot of money but the last one was the original in the bike. No complaints here.
