I've been thinking about installing a side License plate on my FXSTC however I wondered how to get power to the lights without either running external wires or drilling the swing arm and running them internal. Which leads me to the concern of the swing arm moving up & down and wearing the wires out. How have you delt with this problem, and what is your work around. Pictures would be great.

I haven't dealt with this yet, but it is on my short list of things to do this winter.
So, I will be watching this thread to see what others have done.

I prefer to drill and run internally .

on my dyna i ran the wire to the inside of the swing arm and using the 3m wire holders stuck two of them on the inside of the swing arm to hold the wire in place then when got to the frame i left just enough slack as i bounced up and down on the bike to make sure no issues with pulling wire and then wire tied it and ran it up under the seat. Unless your really looking for it you would never know the wire is there.

I ran the wire on the inside of the swing arm, using black wire-ties. Where the swing arm meets the frame, I looped the wire so that it couldn't pull and break the wire. From there, it was a straight shot up under the seat. You would never know the wire was there unless you are looking for it. Sorry, no pics.
