Hey all !

I've just ordered the HARLEY ROCKER C TANK LIFT KIT FXCW 2008-2009 on ebay, the 2" one.

My question is... can I install this kit even if my tank is full of fuel ?

Get the siphon hose out, you need to pull the fuel lines and make them longer to lift the tank.
Here is the excert from the ad.
TANK LIFT KIT INCLUDES:



2 TANK LIFT MOUNTING TABS

1 EXTRA LONG GAS LINE
2 STAINLESS STEEL HOSE CLAMPS
STAINLESS STEEL MOUNTING HARDWARE
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS

If they give you longer hose then your going to need to drain the tank.
Do it outside the garage, trust me on that one. Do not try to drain it inside.

Ohhhh I thought I didn't have to make the fuel lines longer with a 2" lift ? Maybe I misread.

And for the siphon hose... I think I'll need to do some search or order the service manual, since I'm zero in that domain and I don't know where it is (in the tank?)

If I have to drain the tank, I'll follow your advice and do it outside, but I'll have to wait a 3 to 4 month to do it, since now my ride is stored in the living room for winter.

 

I wanted to put mine in the Living room , on one of those Spinner stands...
But the OL wouldn't go Fur it...

Tank isnt to bad. Bolt under the seat that holds it on and front tank bolt that goes through the fram is about it. Dont forgot abot the vent tube and the crossover tube when u pull it apart. Would make sure to cover aywere as might geton your machine th plastic then a towel. Have had some bad experiene with gas eating the black high temp apaing at cyleer baes.

 

I used the same 2" kit. I didn't replace the fuel lines (a must on my bike if I had bought the 3") & had no issues with fuel in tank. If the tank is full you probably need a set of extra hands & check the existing fuel line during install.

You u get by with 2in w/o replacing the lines and not drain. I did the 3in lift so ofcourse I had to drain the tank. Anyhow...goodluck man. You'll be happy with the result. Much better lines.
