Throttle / Idle cables
I ordered a set of Magnum Throttle and Idle recently and took what Hill Country Customs told me as far as the length goes. My bike is a 2007 Standard, and HCC told me I would need 38". This is to go to 1.5" risers and 14" Burlys. After installing, these things are LONG. I ran them how they were, and they start up near the risers, and fall out into a long droop to get to the throttle. Just in trying to take out some slack, I ran them under my neck, toward the left, then turned up, and over the neck to the right and headed up to the throttle and they seem to be just the right length. My throttle seems to move smoothly, and I made the adjustments to tighten the slack I felt in the grip, now its nice and tight. Are there any opinions on running them this way? There are no hard corners in the lines. I think it may even look cleaner run this way. I would zip tie them away from where the steering will turn in and pinch, but felt the need to ask. Ill try to take some pics tonight to better illustrate what Im talking about. My bike is back together and it would chap my *** to have to take it all back apart to send them back.
you should have a little play , dont want em rubbin or pulling from no slak,
you also could run em through triple tree to take up slak too
any pics????
fyi i gat 4" risers ,16" apes & i believe 34 1/2 throttle/idle

Twisted, I don't think you should worry about them if they're not binding and not flopping around and you like the way they look. On my dyna, I ended up with cables way too long from Magnum, and I ran them through the triple trees. It actually looks pretty good, and they work great. >1 year with no problems.
