i have a chance to buy a '95 fatboy. box stock except for a thunder header. extra set of wheels, bags, backrest, windshield, etc. 69k mi. one owner bike owned by the widow of the original law enforcement owner. supposed all records and service history from new.
have not spoken to the widow yet but a mutual friend used to ride with the owner and vouches for the bike. says service history is complete. assume all of the above is true, would this bike be a good weekend rider?
the miles scare me but i've heard if evo motors are maintained by the book mileage shouldn't matter. i like the bike and would like to buy but need my fear of the mileage to be relieved. any help would be appreciated. hope to see the widow tomorrow and inspect records. have ridden the bike and all seems o.k. thanks in advance, michael
miles dont matter if maintained. i have seen 5k bikes that are junk. i had the chance to see mine at 47000 miles next to the same year with 7000 miles. mine stays in a garage and had regular service and kept clean. the other one looked like it had been to the beach and never got cleaned. it had corrosion all over it. so if all the records it should not matter and if someone knows the bike even better.
