I got my hands on a plastic graduated cylinder and used the 397 cc (or ml)
amount in the manual. Seemed a little more precise to me.

Okay snip0721, at the risk of hijacking this thread. Yes, I used "cap" when I should've used "plug," but you still didn't answer my question: "how the heck do you refill the fork oil after changing the seals -- without unscrewing the fork-tube plug, thereby releasing the spring pressure?"

heres some pics....edit, you need a seal installer tool....I got this from ebay there is a guy on there selling jims, knock-offs....he a machinist and does a bunch of stuff without the brand name price tag. I'll try to get the link for yoy and add it later. Oh and make sure you put the seals in the right way or they will leak....ask me how I know















HERES A PIC OF THE CAP THEY WERE TALKIN BOUT, the hex head screws into the plug, the plug holds the spring under pressure, you can have the tubes installed and fill them through the top of the tree.

sancho. the cap, and plug are two different parts. look at the last pis jacazz posted. steve
