Looks good. I love my 01. I can do back to back 600+ mi days on mine no problem. Not sure I'd want to do em w/ that seat mine has alot more back pillar in it (stock seat) but...

Heritage is big enough to tour on but still nimble enough to cruise the town every weekeng and evening. I traded my buddy for his Ultra for a few hours and it got to be alot of bike to bar hop on,, i missed my Heritage quick! Mines lowered also and I'm 6'. No problems w/ it and I think it actually helps handling.

Thanks for the input. Yeah, I really like the lowered classic look too. I know what you mean about the seat. I'd already figured on changing to a slim seat, but with more back support -- that is so important for longer rides.

I had a 03 Heritage Classic and loved that bike. as mentioned a great all around bike. I noticed the reserve wasn't met and wouldn't buy a bike without seeing it in person and at lest hear it run. have you looked around locally as there's plenty of deals to be had on used bikes. people need cash and are selling their toys.

Thumbs up HD Heritage Great All Around Bike

Good morning, HD Softail Heritage is a great all around
bike. I have a 2006, last of the tried and true "88" cu. in.
and have not had any problems. 10K miles.Runs great,
no heat problems, cruise two-up at 70mph all day long.
Good luck, be safe and enjoy that Heritage.

The '99 and '00 TC88b motors had issues with the cam bearings going bad. Don't recall why but a lot of them wore down rapidly and unevenly and eventually gave out at very low mileage. But at the same time many never had an issue. However, they (HD) replaced mine for free at 26K miles. HD never issued a callback for any of these motors but more or less provided replacements for those that bitched the loudest I guess. I would ask the current owner if the cam bearing issue has ever been addressed. It's a about a $600 to $750 repair job if you have a shop do it for you. At least that is what was quoted to me when I was I going back and forth with the dealer at the time. Thats the only issue I ever had with it. It's a fantastic ride. Smooth as can be, and will carry you comfortably across the country. Still have mine!

Lots of goodies!

Chubbies Wild One bars with internal wiring... I have those
Chrome wheels (lots of other chrome extras)
Custom paint job with chrome tank medallions
Custom seat
Quick disconnect bags
Lowered suspension
Vance & Hines Exhaust

I would ask if the bike was outfitted with a Screaming Eagle Stage I breather kit since that often is what people do when they put new pipes on. Looks like the bike might have the Stage I kit. I don't see a black plastic air limiter behind the new air cleaner cover. You will see a significant performance increase with the Stage I kit.

It has upgraded passenger pegs, but no passenger seat or backrest, which come stock on a 2000 Heritage Classic. Just wonderin' if they've got one in the back room for it. The seat they put on is cool, but it's not the kind that accepts a passenger pillon. You can buy a different seat if you need to later.

I see there is no windshield in the pic, which, once again come stock on the original bike. There are windshield mounts I can see in the pics. Sometimes dealers take 'em off in the showroom and put 'em on when you buy the bike. Whether there is a windshield or not with this bike, seems like a reallly good deal with all the extras. Seats and windshields are expensive. Check www.harley-davidson.com for MSRP. But, you can add seat, windshield and more in time as you wish and enjoy the bike in the meantime.

The low miles are great! Mine's an '06 with 30k+. I would do the normal things like Blue Book, NADA value, CarFax and check the title to be sure it's not salvaged, etc., but looks like a good deal to me.

Nice looking bike!

Good advice. I've looked around locally and there are a couple older heritages, but not really the eye candy I'm seeing from this bike.

I know it's foolish to buy a bike sight unseen, but I sure am being tempted. I don't have the time to go look at it.

Thanks Rabzdoc and Mcpastor! Those are especially the kind of things I needed to learn. I've written a 2nd question post to the seller, but I haven't yet heard anything back from my first questions from yesterday.
