On chrome parts, sand untill it's dull looking. Then spray some self etching primer on. Then paint. My painted parts have held up as good as the powder coated parts on another bike I have. And it would be an easy job to touch up the painted parts, If they were to chip.

Thanks Alot. And yes, I did clear coat. I figured it would add a little more protection.

Hey RockyTop, My front rim was rusted when I got the bike. So I didn't have any thing to lose by painting it. I sanded the wheels and spokes the best I could. Then sprayed the self etching primer on it. That stuff works great. Then I painted black , then clear coat. I didn't use any kind of flex paint. It has held up GREAT! I've had one chip in the front wheel. BUT that was where I dropped a set of allen wrenches and hit it.

I Know a few people have sent stuff to Joe at http://www.thepowderpro.com/ he gives Forum members really good prices. I am sending him 5 or 6 things from my crossbones in the next week or so and for less the 200.00 you cant beat the price. You can PM him at JRK5892 or go to his site and he will give you a quote on what each part would cost.

All you guys making it happen for your self are the real deal, (no offense to any one else) but lets face it people that actualy do things are who i am needing advice from, i got it that i can find a local powder coater and stock pile all the parts and hand them off for a cheap price, probably alot easier that way and possibly gaurantee'd to be better, but i want to learn to do things myself so i can take pride in the fact that my bike is my bike and i am capable, and i am not giving a stranger all my money out of laziness. so please keep the tips coming those who black out there own bikes, so far sanding chrome to a dull finish, self etching primer engine enamel and clear coat, are what i am hearing, any body uy an actual spray gun and attempt that? i own a compressor already so.
