Default Thundermax decel pop

My bike, 09 fatboy Tmax w/autotune/SE heavy breather/2" Rush slip-ons.

I have been trying to get rid of the decel pop, I loaded map 401 as suggested by Zippers and guys here on the forum. (thanx)

I ran her for 100+ miles in a few rides but had alot decel pop around 2200/2300 rpm, so after much reading the forum and directions I decided to reload the map (401) but this time change the decel fuel cut to 1 (enabled) so i rode for another 100+ miles today with a few stops and the decel pop is less but still there, also the bike does not seem to have as much ***** as before it seems less responsive.

I know its only 100+ miles on the setup but should there be any decel pops?

Also a little confused , I have the tmax w/autotune does to bike get auto tuned for best performace or does it simply tune the bike to the loaded map??

appreciate the help.

Colin

Seeings how you mentioned new "Slip ons". Check those for leaks. I use a bead of high temp silicone to make sure that mine don't leak. If those are ok you probably have a lean condition. You can check your spark plugs for that info. GOOD LUCK.

thanxs for the reply v2in,
the 1st thing I looked at was the slip-ons for leaks and nothing, checked them with a smoke.
I will pull a plug and check the condition. as alot of guys use the Tmax i thought that someone has to have had the same isssue.

+ 1 on the check of leaks.
Dealer did my install at the 1k with stg 1,,, couldn't get the popping out even redynoed 2 times, till I found the problem... the wench didn't get the clamps on right and actually bent the front end of the muffles, where the slots are, and 7 of the 8 slots U could see dayligh through causing air leaks,,,, after they redid them with new clamps in the proper place and dynoed her again they got rid or 95% of the popping.

I think you need to ride more than 100 miles with auto tune.

thanxs for the reply oct1949,
hmm I checked for leaks when the bike was hot maybe checking when cold??? I will check again tomorrow. I should add that the decel pop is not all the time & did get alot better with the change to the decel fuel cut to 1, but a I did notice a power loss.

maybe your right Jake?? thats 1 of the reasons I posted this, some say 100 to 300 miles and frequent stop as the Tmax learns/stores when shut off. The weather here looks decent this week(50*) so I am going to put more miles on her I simply don't want to F up something on the bike as I am new to this setup (Thundermax)

I ended up calling the factory as the wrench couldn't tune it out. The Rush factory is only 80 miles north of home so I called a rush tech and in less than 30secs He told me what the problem was,. The wrench who worked on my bike told me it couldn't be leaking and that I was wrong till he let me show him that he was the one that was wrong....didn't make him happy, but it was what it was...

Heres how to check for leaks,,, on my 2 in, baffles, it was easy,

Get on ur knees behind the rear end of the pipes,, have someone hold a light where the header pipes and the mufflers meet..(where the clamps are).and move the light around the muffler at each of he four slots on each muffler.

While U Look into the rear of the pipe see if U can see any light in side the muffler where the four slots are, U'll have to move Ur head around to make sure its ok or not .. if U see any light at all then U will have a leak and U'll have decell popping.

If U have 1 3/4'' or 1 1/2 baffles U may have to pull them out to check????
