welcome. not sure if softails r the same as nightsters, but my sis got a 07 nightster and b4 she got after market pipes i took a piece of rebar and punched a hole in the plug of the baffle. took about 3 seconds a side and it got louder! made her grin...

 

Check out "Big City Thunder". They have some good sounding baffles and will explain how to "punch out" your stock mufflers. They also have great customer service. I have a set on my Fat Boy and am really satisfied.

I've heard a couple bike that had the stock baffles punched out...

sounded like an ole VW farting going down the road...

just get a set of slip-ons or system, whatever U can afford.

Just listen to others and then when U hear what U like, go for it...that way maybe U'll only have to buy one set....

Besides u may need the stockers some day if the noise law changes in Ur town..

 

His post said w/o replacing the pipes. Yes take a concrete stake or a sharpend piece of round steel and drive that fugger through the plug like it was draculas' GD heart. Done and done. Watch your plugs though you may need a tuner. We've done it to several bikes some need a tuner some don't but, they all sound a helluva lot better>

 

Get yourself a set of Samson long shots or Thunder 2into1's both have nice n loud sounds
