Default Disassembling Forks (quick help if possible)
I'm disassembling them to Pcoat them. but I cant for the life of me get them apart. The manual just says "remove dust cover and dust shield." the cover is the rubber thing, that was not problem but the shield is an aluminum thing that doesnt look anything like the diagram.

WHAT DO I DO?

did you take the allen bolt out of the bottom of the slider???...........if so do a hammer slide and they will pop right off

There is an allen bolt inside where the axle sits... did you take that out?

yes now take the allen bolt out of the bottom you will see it in a hole in the bottom of the slider (its really tight use an impact gun if ya have one )once you have it out do a sliding motion and slide hammer it, they will come apart

well sure enough the one we have is a half inch to short. And the guy that goes to the PC just left. Looks like im runnin to sears and doin it tomorrow. Thanks alot for the quick response times guys.

cut the elbow off a allen (so its straight) and put it in a socket

If I remember correctly, its a 10mm and needs to be fairly long. I used an impact wrench on mine.
