Took off the floorboards , and stock controls off my 2010. According to HD , 08 and up fwd controls will work . I purchased controls from an 08 Xbones and I'm having problems .. Ist : kickstand (ez enuff I can change that out )....2nd : the RT side with master cyl will not bolt up properly and is hitting the exhaust (samson).. Has anyone done this or experienced anything like this ? ....Did they change anything in 2010 ? .

 

i'm about the farthest thing from an expert , so you might want to wait until someone who actually knows what they're talking about shows up

my guess is the samson exhaust is designed to work with a stock xbones with floorboards , they didn't plan for anyone running forwards . if you replace your stock exhaust you'll probably find they fit . now since you don't want to do that you could try contacting samson to see if they have any advice

 

thxs... already checked with samson... all softails 06 and up .. no difference what model ... Harley did say FL fwd controls and FX fwd controls have a different part number .. telling me this ebay score was a fail. heres a shot of the fwd controls .. notice the lip towards the back , thats what is interfering with the exhaust.... anyone know what year this came from ?

 

ok ... problem solved .. got the pipe on , VERY close , there is zero clearance , but its ok now ...

 

Sometimes all you gotta do is just walk away from it for a few minutes.
