After reviewing my exhaust which is a Vance & Hince 2 into 1 competition series from the Iron I just purchased, I'm kinda sad that I can't put forward controls on her. The mid controls are ok but I'm not totally comfortable, their not totally bad but I like to stretch my legs a bit. Anyway that I could get around the bent exhaust header seen on the pic attached? I sure hope so
Don't want to replace the exhaust and spent more more on buying a new one...
i am not sure if it will be a problem it looks to me the same header pipe position i have on mine so i think i might work does it look close to the same thing?
well the way the front pipe runs down the tube and the other pipe swerves back towards the other pipe it doesn't leave much room for them, NOTE: it is not like the photo Mr Bungle posted. If you were able to manage to install them I think you would find your ankle getting awfully hot.
I think in your case (setup) you either get use to where they are or replace the exhaust system

I'm gonna call Vance & Hines or JP cycles tech support to inquire.. The mid controls are not very comfy and I'm not that tall to begin with, I'm only 5'06!~ HUGE TALL GUY!
YAY! I'm finally happy~ According to J&P tech support, forward controls do fit and it shouldn't be an issue. So now I'm happy! Was sweating a lil bit...
Be aware that your right leg will probably spend time up against that rear pipe where it bends. Without heat shields it may be pretty uncomfortable. I'd say hang on to your mids until you give the forwards some seat time.
My pipe sits like that and I ran forwards for a bit but had to use the heat shields. With mids my legs don't seem to hug the bike frame as much. I'm 5'6" also.

Good point, I don't think that this exhaust came w heat shields, but I will look into it.. I'm going to re-wrap the exhaust headers w titanium wrapping, black in color and I'm also going to seal it.. Hopefully that will take care of the issue but we will see. Thanks again!
