I went to my local dealer today and ordered a 2007 FatBoy in Vivid Black. He claims I won't see it until early Sept. WTF!!!! Oh well the wait will make me enjoy it more. I saw the vivid black in another showroom and it looked SWEET! Unfortunately that one was sold. I also learned that dealer's prep charges vary. My local dealer will have to make an adjustment on that or I'm taking my deposit back. Now back to the HD parts catalog.
i had a deposit on one to be delivered first week of august... (vivid black) but i made the mistake to go to another dealer to window shop and Bang 4300$ off retail on a white 2006... i LOVE the 2007 BUT 4K off a sweet ride was too hard to let go... but trust me i know whow you feel! i even had the parts number for my 2007 written down...
I guess i ll just have to drool on those 2007 when they start roaming around here in Vancouver....
Gratz on the ride you going to love the fatti tire!
I think dealer prep is a rip-off. I shopped around and I bought my bike at book MSRP and not a penny more. I got a 20% discount on all motor accessories and clothes for a year. A couple of dealers in the next county wanted $565.00 dealer prep and that included the first (1000 mile) service. I paid $172.00 for my first service. They do the 'dealer prep' because people will just pay it and not ask why.

My dealer wants $620 for dealer prep for my 2007 FB. That to me is absurd. Claim they get the bike in a crate and it has to be assembled, fine, but good god, it's not the Eiffel Tower we're putting together. I'll be calling other dealers and see what they charge for dealer prep before I write the check.
