For all you guys that are running a power commander can you give some advice on where you fit the connection bundle from the PC to the ECM. I have the unit mounted behind the rock guard but I'm having a bear of a time finding out where to put the extra connection from the ECM to the PC.
P.S. the pictures/instructions that came with it suck.
I had mine behind the rock guard for awhile. About 2 months. When I check on it, it was really takin a beating and I put it in the provided deep tray on top of the ECM under the seat.
Dont know what you have but I have an 05 Fatty. I would get it out from the mudguard.
JMHO
put mine behind the splash shield/rock guard as well. Used zip ties and has held in place for 2 yrs with no problem. Mine dosent get too dirt I just make a point of removing the shield when I detail the bike and get in there nice and deep like.
I would not put it in the rock guard like I believe those shitty instructions tell you too...why..I installed one on the wifes softail and it ran real good for a few days, then coming home from Nashville tonight she hit a pot hole and the bike shut down..I was able to disconnect the power commander and the bike started right up and we got home fine..so I just pulled the power commander out of the bike and find that the back cover is broke..I guess I will call Jamie at Fuel Motto and see whats up..I have the Power Commander's installed on both of my Road Kings and thought the install was much better there than on her Soft tail..I did try to piggy back the unit on top of the ECM as that would have been the best spot for sure but the seat would not fit..
I installed the PCV on my Sportster and it was a very easy install. When I looked at the instructions for a Softail I think I might go for the Thundermax.

I have mine in the deep tray under the seat.
I have had mine die twice both times due to moisture.
Power Comander guys say not possible but both times I let it dry out for a few days and boom back on.
I now keep mine wrapped in a zip lock bag and seal it with duct tape no problems since- three years now.
