I have an 07 Heritage. I have tried the stock handlebars in numerous positions to try and get a more comfortable ride. Can not find a sweet spot. I want to change out handlebars and I am looking at putting some beach bars on it to help spread my arms out and reduce shoulder tension. But, I have never ridden a bike with beach bars so I do not know if I am right. Can anyone share their experience with beach bars on a Heritage, or other?
I went with the Burly Beach bars. They are the slightly shorter than full length/width ones. I am nearly 6'3", so my knees would get in the way of the wider and lower ones. Compared to my stock bars, my hands are set wider and lower which relieves my arms and shoulders from any riding stress. Beach Bars look really good on the more nostalgic bikes.
hey tommyz. i too did not like the look or feel of my 08 heritage bars.i put on a road king bar.much better look and feel and probably less dollars than a custom bar. good luck with what ever you choose. norm
HD beach bars. I think they are about 36" wide. Extremely comfortable. Like Big smooth I am 6'-3" and they let me stretch my arms out. Never any back or shoulder pain.
Thanks for taking the time to respond. I think it will be worth the experiment. I'm 6'2 and my shoulders aren't lovin me on long rides. I found the Carlini Freeway bars I think I am going to try. They look like a hybrid of the stock bars and a beach bar. Wider, lower, with similar pullback.
Thanks everyone. It's spring up here in the Northland I and I am itchin to get out on the road!!
