I have an 08 Train, and an odd thing is happening when I shift gears. When I go from 2-3, or 3-4, etc...I noticed that there is a "slop" on the foot shifter that will go away if I tap the shifter. I recently installed the arlen ness forward controls, and didnt make any changes that I am aware of? How do you adjust the rod from the foot shifer to tranny? Is there a procedure? A wrong and right so to speak.. Thanks......
your adjsustment is all done with the linkage rod. Mine seems a bit on the sloppy side also when i grab ahold of it a shake it.
Check to make sure you dont have the "heim" joints (ball sockets at the ends of the shift rod) in any kind of bind with the linkage, it's easy to get it into a bind when tightening the jam nuts.
