Default Lenale Cooling Fan

Has anyone installed the Lenale cooling fan on your Harley in the location of the stock horn ? I just bought one and installed it on my 2010 Heritage using a Factory auxiliary handlebar switch by the throttle. These are a very nice looking unit and seems to throw a lot of air between the engine fins. My only concern about the quality is the flimsy ground wire that they install. These fans seem to pull a lot of power and the power wire is plenty adequate but the ground wire is so thin and delicate that if you try to strip the plastic coating off or crimp a lug onto it the wire breaks. Makes me wonder how long it will be before it breaks out on the highway when you need it. How much could they be saving on a $200.+ fan by using this cheap wire and it's not just a matter of just changing the wire because it is sealed right into the motor ? Have they been using this wire all along or is it just recent units in order to cut costs ? Makes no sense to me.

??? Am I the only one that has installed one of these fans ? Sure would like to know if this thin ground wire was put on my fan by mistake or is that what they are using on all of these fans. If it is, I wouldn't advise buying one.

Default Looks like Lenale making good.

I just received an email from Len at Lenale manufacturing addressing the wiring in the fans. He said he would send me another fan with different wiring and said that as of today They would not be using that same batch of wire. So it looks like the company stands behind it's products. He also said that the reports of fires were a hoax by another knock off company . I will report again on how this all turns out.

Default Lenale Comes Through , Excellent Response

I just got a personal phone call from Len , the owner of Lenale Engineering addressing the problem that I had. It seems to be an isolated problem involving some defective wire which is out of their control. When they realized that there was a problem with the wire, they discontinued use of the wire and he is sending me a complete new unit. These fans are a very nice unit and the customer service that he showed will bring me back. As a matter of fact I talked to him about buying their oil cooler with built in fans but he said that with this fan, I probably wouldn't even need it. Lenale engineering is an american company and we need to support American products when they are done right.
