Default PC V question

Hi all. I am in the process of deciding on an exhaust system for my 09 Fatboy and have a question. Currently, it has a stage 1 intake, Screamin Eagle slipons and a stage 1 download (it was et up like this when I purchased it a couple weeks ago). If I go with a PC V, do I need to have the bike returned to stock programming before installing? Or, if I just go to a different exhaust, say Vance Big Radius or BSS, do I even need a programmer at this point? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

No need to have it returned to regular fuel map. There are tons of maps in the Dyno Jet database, and for those specific exhausts I am sure there are several for each one. Drew

If you decide on a PCV, call up FuelMoto for good pricing and they may even be able to set you up with a map preloaded for your setup so all you would need to do is plug it in and ride.

Thanks for the input guys. I was definitely going to call Fuelmoto. I have read stellar reviews on them for quite some time here. Thanks Dr. V-Twin for verifying I don't need to go back to stock first. The local dealer said I would need to and I figured they were blowing smoke to get extra $$$ from me.
Thanks again

No you don't need to go back to the stock map on the bike ECM, Here is what Dyno Jet sent me when I asked this: I am getting ready to install a 103 CI kit in my bike. One of the upgrades is installing the PC5 with auto tune. I have had my ECM re-mapped when I installed pipes and air breather. I was told by the local HD dealer that the PC5 will not work correctly without the stock map in the ECM. Is this true?

Here is there reply:

If it was remapped with a Screaming Eagle race tuner then he is correct, as they change quite a bit of the factory fuel calibration when remapped that way. If it just had what used to be called a stage 1 download, now known as a street legal calibration, those don’t make substantial fuel changes just rev extension and timing since the advent of the closed loop factory O2 system, so they do not affect the Power Commander enough to require a different map and using a map for a stock ECM is fine.
