I have been lurking on this forum for some time now and used alot of the info here to steer me into the right direction as to which bike was best for me. I just purchased a used 05 very low miles CVO fat boy. I really liked the Street Glide but my eyes had to have the fat boy. I came form sport bikes and it has been an adjustment but one that I'm finally ready for. I have a couple of questions that I hope you all can help me with. Love the seat but need something that is more comfortable when taking long distance rides. Second I'm looking for front brake pads that have alot of initial bite. Is there such a thing for this bike? I feel like I'm trying to stop an aircraft carrier. I'm looking forward to your responses thanks again and ride safe!
You'll get a lot of responses on the seat, but as far as brake pads, you might try Lyndall Racing. You might even look into something like Performance Machine 6-piston calipers.
Congrats on a nice bike!
Brake pads will help some. PM 4 or 6 piston calipers, maybe a new MC, floating rotors, good pads, ss braided brake lines will help more. Or, dont ride it like a sport bike, take your time, cruise a little more and enjoy the ride. It is an aircraft carrier... lol
Search seats. Just installed a C&C and really like it, a lot!! Call DrVtwin for pricing. He is a site sponsor.
You might even look to have a company redo your seat to your liking. If you purchase a new seat, I wouldn't get rid of the stock one in case you decide to sell or trade the bike later......
Nice bike bro..i wrode sport bikes for years...in my oppinion your never gonna get it to stop like my GSXR750...So slow down and enjoy the ride...Besides your new bike is much better to look at ...slow down and let them look...=0)
