Default Question for the experts...

Right now I have a bone stock 08 Rocker. A buddy of mine has got an 09 Rocker an cheated, had all the stuff done to his when he bought as I should have done with mine but thats in the past now lol.

My question is can his 09 w/ S/E big sucker intake, V&H big radius 2-2 and SERT really make that much of a difference between his and mine? When we pull off side by side from one another say at a stoplight/sign he gets on his and totally smokes me...do these add on's really make that much of a night and day difference?!?!

I mean I can see why my other buddy who has the big bore kit added to his old harley smokes me but come on does intake exhaust and ECU tuner really make that much of a difference?

Do you both weight about the same? Are you as good at launching the bike and shifting as him?

i am probably 30 lbs heavier than he is and i think of myself a better launcher yea...i do know he really likes to wrap out all his gears lookin for the rev limiter each and every time...whereas i dont do that as i would like to keep my bike much longer. also have a buddy that has a NT with martin bros shockwaves, SERT and S/E intake as well and he smokes me all the same...but we think his NT and my Rocker are geared differently *shrugs*

Those mods do make a BIG difference as evidenced by the fact you're gettin smoked, assummin of course you're giving her full throttle. Anyway, an off-the-shelf bike needs intake, exhaust and a f/a remix right out of the box.

do these bikes have rev limiters? i have often wondered that with there being no tachs on em. was told by the stealer to shift according to what the owners manual says but if you do that you get engine lug and im not a fan of that either...

The engines have rev limiters off the shelf, I think it's like 5250.To avoid engine lug, downshift and give er more throttle.

You'll add approximatley 10 to 12 horsepower plus torque by doing the A/C, pipes and a tuner. Do it and you'll keep up.

Yup, they do make a big difference... I ride with a street glide and a fat boy who both had those done, and until this year i had a hard time keeping up off the line, and also highway passing. I'm doing alright now, but they're talking cams, so looks like I'll have to go straight to the 103 for this winter's project, lol.

Yes it does make that much of a difference. Plus stock Harley's run lean from the factory due to emission standards.
