I would change it asap. Water and metal do not go together well. I also prefer gear oil, 85-90 w semi synthetic. It will make your transmission much quieter and easier to shift. TJ
Thanks everyone but I think it was the original oil because there was not even a hint of oil color in it, so I change it yesterday and ran the bike for about 50 miles today and changed the oil again, it looked alot better?
I used Amsoil 20w50.
Can anybody tell me where the tranny drain plug is on my 07 FLSTC ?? Do the shocks have to come off ??
Get the H-D service manual. All your questions will be answered there. Step-by-step with pictures. Also, the parts manual, with its exploded views (and of course part numbers ), is highly recommended.

Thats the BEST advice ever. It 'll pay for itself everytime you want to do something on your scoot.
If it was mine I'd run it around the block and change it again. It's only one quart. And I would put in gear lube. Engine gets engine oil. Tranny with gears gets gear lube. I use Mobil 1 75w/90 or 75w/140 in the summer. Others like shockproof or amsoil gear lube. It's not rocket surgery.
I have 41K on my 05 heritage and have been running amsoil for the last 30K. Did the cam shaft chain tensioner upgrade at 35K and the inside of the engine was pristine. Last night I experienced the milky gear oil for the first time. Kind of freaked me out. Best I can tell from posts is condensation. We've had some cool mornings and hot afternoons here in south Florida lately. Or water running down the clutch cable and into the case. Put fresh amsoil 75-90 gear oil in last night and did my usual round trip to work and back, 88 miles. Drained it, still milky but lighter in color. Filled it to the brim with regular auto motor oil and ran it around the block a few times and drained it completely. Some, but very little sign of discoloration. Refilled with amsoil 75-90. I'll give you an update again tomorrow night. Getting ready for the Everglades Seafood Festival this weekend.
