Harley has a problem with the headlamp connector going bad and they sell replacement ones. Im not sayn this is your prob, but I kept blowing bulbs every other day, then I replace the connector per a hd tech and it hasnt blown in 4 months. But its cheaper to remove the buld and see if the elemnt is broken 1st.

One way to keep the bulb from buring out early is to make sure you have clean and corrosion free connectors and make sure you put a little bit of dielectric grease on the terminals.
Using a little of that on connections will keep any moisture that manages to get into it.
Because ANY corrosion in the connector, or any connector for that matter will raise the current loading of that circuit and in lighting circuits will cause bulbs to burn out prematurely.

Thumbs down Still no resolve with High beam

I replaced the light bulb, tried switching the wiring to the no stock bulb, I have power to the switch but lose power to the headlight on the high beam....I am new to bikes so is there a wiring harness under the gas tank or where to the wires go from the high beam switch. Any help would be great before I take the bike apart in pieces......the bike is an 02 Duece......thanks guys!

Did you ever get this fixed? I just bought a 96 Fatboy that has the same problem... When I switch to highbeam though I hear a relay click and all lights flicker momentarily. This process keeps repeating with no lights ever staying on.

Default Found the problem on mine

Got to looking around and removed the dash on my 96 Fatboy. The Highbeam indicator wire had been pinched and grounded out to the dash bolt. Some liquid tape and insured that it was all clear of pinch points when I put back together.
