Default Question on lowering

I have a '10 Heritage and need to lower it about an inch. I know the lowering kits are an option but I am already dragging my boards and am concerned that will make it even worse, especially two-up. I've looked at the Reach seat but I am really happy with the stock seat and like the looks of it better. Anyone have any other options?

Change the stock shocks to the Profile low rear suspension shocks like on the Deluxe. The black ones lower 3/4 inch and the chrome have two choices.. 3/4 and 1 inch....

You can find the black ones on ebay for little of nothing pretty much anymore. I picked some up last year for 100 bucks.

Or you can just buy Progressive 422's which will cost you more and will require dialing in but are worth the money.

You will scrape easier. That is a fact. Maybe take it easy in teh twisties and around the corners and all if you insist on lowering it more. There is always air ride too.

Just a note on the Reach seats. I had one, and my experience is they mainly move you closer (more forward) and don't lower you that much if at all. And I agree they are not a very good looking seat. A narrower seat will make it easier to flat foot the bike.

I just put the 422s on mine and so far, not impressed (considering how much they cost), but I've only put about 50 miles on them. Time will tell, some members swear by them.

Yep your gonna scrape even worse....but with a lowered bike your riding style will adapt to your bikes set-up....atleast i did. Go with stock deluxe shocks or have cheapo bolts put in.
