Dynabob I wish I got 200 miles to a tank, I'm lucky to get 100 miles to the tank since my dyno. My bike does go like a stuck pig tho......and sounds great, and runs alot cooler. I'm running Basanni Pro Streets, PCV, Screaming Chicken intake. Next month the bike is booked in for another tune. I'll keep this current tune for hot doging it and a second fuel econemy map for my touring around North America. I get better fuel milage in my 530 then my bike.. lol
Not to hijack the thread but how tough was it to get that PCV in the bike? I heard you had to modify the fuse box?
If you are running the stock seat, its a PITA. If you have swapped it out, its just a matter of taking off the bracket for the ECM and using velcro instead
So the wifes cross bones has a brawler seat. It should fit fine?
yeah, I had a Brawler. Remove the metal bracket that holds the ECM down. I also removed the metal bracket that holds the relay boxes in place. That lets you pust the ECM down more. Use the velcro with the PC-V and you're good.....
more fuel = cooler engine... thats why you have to do it with new bikes...the epa has em too lean....your running just fine.....i just changed plugs on mine and wur golden tan PERFECT....never checked milage cuz i dont care, but i get about 200 miles outta a tank.........if i wanted a mileage bike i wouda got a v-rod with a fan and water
200-210 sounds about right for me as well. I could probably get more but I don't like pushing my luck to find out with how inaccurate the gas guage is on my bike.
And not trying to clown ya but...V-Rods get Horrible MPG's. According to their specs, they are rated at over 10 mpg's per gallon less than the 96 V-Twins. In one review of the muscle, the testers observed on a long trip a worse mpg average than my wife's Honda Civic which averages 32 mpg's.
Wish it was as easy for most of us to ignore these figures but the reality is that Harleys are impractical enough as it is without them being gas hogs.
